you know i really would like you to return one of my e-mails so i can get the number and talk to my kids before i just show up on your door step. my cell is 360-731-**** and my house number is 360-443-****. please use them…

Dani March 17 at 12:31pm
hello, really. i dont wanna have to do this the hard way jeremy, but if you leave me no other choices please believe me when i say i will..

Me Minutes ago
Hello,

Sorry that I don’t live on facebook. I seem to be busy supporting and raising kids. I can’t help that you can’t keep an important number safe. If it were important for you to remain in contact with the kids you’d have contacted me sooner than this. As this facebook message is the first I’ve heard from you in some time I am confused by your first message of “return my emails”. I have had the same hotmail account since 2001 and I have no emails from you there recently. If you were to have ever emailed me then my hotmail would be in your contacts and there would be no excuse for you to lose that as it saved by your email provider online. All you had to do was login and there it would be. I then feel compelled to point out we last heard from you when you wanted to get Susie’s number to let her know Charlene had the baby. When you called you didn’t ask how the kids were to speak to them and that was the last we ever heard from you. Seems that one is a toddler now, so that helps to keep things in perspective don’t you think?

During the last stint we heard from you the kids were going to have their own cell phones that you were going to provide. Were it that you follow through on your promises to them then they’d have been in constant contact with you via the non-existent phones. That brings me to my point which is that you have a history of inconsistency in their lives. When you do come around you make a decent show of it for a short period of time and then are gone again. While you are around however you make them promises you do consistently fail to keep.

Through your infrequent contact and hopeless promises you do more harm than good for the general well being of the children. When you start to be around again they start to rekindle the hope that you will indeed be a part of their lives and whats more something you have failed to ever be to them: a mother. With your lifelong pattern of behavior regarding the children it is to give them hope and then to disappear for long periods of time. It seems you wish to be in contact when it is convenient for you to do so. During these periods of absence it is I who is left to deal the repercussions of re-awaking the feeling of abandonment that they have from you. There is no discussion from them ever asking to contact you. You are a non-entity in their lives. Deep down inside they do hold a lingering hope that you will show up and be their mother. However at this time in their lives I would have to say that it might be to late for you.

Jake (my son) is about to be 13 and you will find that you are no longer dealing with a gullible child blindly believing whatever you tell him. Instead you will find a young man who is hurt deeply not just that you weren’t around but by the fact that when you do come around you favor Mia (my daughter). He has even been to counseling to deal with his issues.

It does seem to me that I should point out that it appears you wish to point the blame of your non-contact or being a part of their lives onto me. Somehow it is all my fault that you are in the current state you are in regarding the children. My family and I however have been more than accommodating once even having you, your boyfriend, your sister, her boyfriend and your mother over. I even prepared dinner for everyone and asked nothing of you.

It is clear that your desire to remain in contact with the children is not to serve the good of the children but instead to satisfy a need for you to feel as if you are a part of their lives. A chance to play the role of mother. As with any role it is apparent that it is an act and a short lived one at best.

You have had numerous chances to be a part of their lives with no hindrance from myself and you have on your own failed to live up to the task. It is my job, as it has been for a good number of years, to parent these children. A major responsibility of that is to protect them from harm. It clearly causes them emotional harm to have you yo-yo in and out of their lives and I feel compelled to protect them from having to further endure the anguish that this causes them.

As I stated before there were ways for you to contact me before this and your almost immediate response of an idle threat due to my failure to instantly respond and comply to your demands shows some serious audacity. You can feel free to take any action you feel is necessary to pursue a relationship with the children as you state is your wish. You should be aware that involving the court system into this matter would then put the burden upon you to fulfill your duties, something you clearly have a long history of failing to do.

I have an Ipod Touch aka The Iphone without the contract.

I have for sometime now used a cell phone as my alarm in the morning and the Ipod has this feature…

Wake me up. The fatal flaw is that if I forget to turn up the volume the damn thing only displays a dialog box telling me it is time to get up. At 6am that isn’t enough to wake up anyone I know. What Apple needs to do is add a VOLUME setting to the alarm. My Net10 prepaid cell phone is what I have to rely on as an alarm.

Sadly it works daily because the volume is always on and is difficult to turn down. The phone is rarely used as well unlike the Ipod which I constantly am doing something with.

I think the folks over at Apple should consider adding a feature to the alarm to enable the volume when the alarm goes off so sleepy people like me can rely upon the Iphone to be a good alarm.

Then they can work on having the damn thing sync to an internet time source like my computer does.

OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK — A man hiking north of Rialto Beach in 2007 was stopped in his tracks.

It was high tide and he couldn’t get around the next headland. He was late for work, so he picked up his cell phone to call Olympic National Park rangers.

“He wanted to call a helicopter to come and pick him up,” said Bryan Bell, an Olympic National Park ranger.

“We told him we couldn’t do that, of course.”

Another man hiking in the heart of the park used his handheld device for the same reason.

“There was an executive a couple years ago who was in the Bailey Range who was going to be there longer than expected and asked about getting a flight out,” said Dave Reynolds, Olympic National Park spokesman.

“The park couldn’t fly a helicopter to him. You can’t just land a helicopter in the wilderness.

“We get those requests from time to time.”

Man I love Snopes.com.

I tend used to get a lot of emails forwarding me all sorts of odd things. It amazes me what believe just because they read it somewhere. With the modern age we have a strong reliance on information second hand and we should really check our source before buying into the idea being spread, especially on the internet. It also doesn’t help that most people have a willingness to believe something that perhaps is something we want to believe anyway. Now they have someone else who believes the same thing but they went and put it in an email (or posted it on a blog, website or broadcast it on Fox News), therefore it must now be a cold hard fact.

The reason I no longer get a lot of forwarded emails is because I check Snopes.com and if they refute it then I reply with a link to Snopes.com and explain why the email is wrong. I don’t just reply to the sender. No, not me. I reply to all because I feel that everyone who got that misinformation needs to know that the email they got was just wrong. The nice thing about Snopes is they include those pesky things it is hard to ignore, sources. Sometimes when an email has hit thousands of people by being forwarded over and over again I personally feel it is dreadful how much damage the misinformation is doing. In those cases I will glean the email addresses for everyone and send it to them all. If I ever need to get out of paying a ticket I wonder if that would count as Community Service?

The following is the opening paragraph of an article on Snopes that I hope you will read and take away something from. No I’m not trying to get you to support Obama if you don’t want to. I’m hoping you will apply a little analytical thinking before you forward that next chain email. Be sure to read the full article linked at the bottom of this post.

When reporters interview us about our work, they often ask us to comment on the notion that we’re engaged in a great public service, making the world a better place by “striking a blow for the truth” and stamping out rumor and misinformation by replacing them with facts. Those reporters usually seem to be taken aback or disappointed when I tell them that I don’t really believe our site makes much of a difference in the greater scheme of things; that the responses we get tend to indicate a good many people are determined to believe whatever they want to believe, and no collection of contradictory factual information, no matter how large or authoritative or impressive it might be, is ever going to dissuade them from their beliefs.

Craig Smallwood, a 51-year-old man from Ewa Beach, Hawaii, will have his day in court. U.S. District Judge Alan Kay made sure of it when he dismissed half of Smallwood’s eight charges against NCSoft related to alleged videogame addiction, leaving four charges still to be resolved.

According to Hawaii’s Star Advisor rag, Smallwood claims he has a tough time bathing and even waking up in the morning because of “phenomena of psychological dependence and addiction” to the game “Lineage II.” Smallwood further alleges that the game caused “extreme and serious emotional distress and depression.”

None of us here have a degree in medicine, but it seems like Smallwood could have avoided these claimed ailments by spending a little less time plugged into Lineage II’s network. Naturally, the plaintiff disagrees.

“NCSoft is a discretionary and discriminatory in its applications of the rules,” Smallwood said in his original October complaint. “Often they will allow certain players to break rules … while they enforce these rules on others.”

The Judge threw out claims of misrepresentation/deceit, unfair and deceptive trade practices, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and punitive damages. The charges that remain include defamation, negligence, gross negligence, and negligent infliction of emotional distress.
